“One word, simple but full of meaning, is dedication. Apart from anything else, strong determination to dedicate oneself to striving for the nation and the people is the prime asset,” explained Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa in his speech at the inauguration and taking of the oath of office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Echelon II officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nusantara Room (1/10).

Still in the atmosphere of sadness after the release ceremony of the late Ambassador Teuku M. Hadi Thayeb, the Indonesian Minister of Foreign affairs reminds all inaugurated officials that dedication should mirror the spirit of former Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.  “Let’s strengthen our determination to strive, to give and to dedicate to the nation,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty.

Twelve Echelon II officials were inaugurated and taken the oath of office by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. R.M. Marty Natalegawa. On the same occasion, a warrant letter was read out to Mochamad Chandra Widya Yudha as Task Executive Director of ASEAN Security Politics  at the Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation.

The twelve officials are as follows: Soehardjono Sastromihardjo as Head of  Education and Training Center; Ade Sukendar as Secretary General  of  Protocol and Consular Affairs; Damos Dumoli Agusman as Seretary of the Directorate General of Law and International Agreements; Rosmalawati Chalid as Seretary of the Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation; Jehezkiel Stephanus George Lantu as Director of ASEAN Functional Cooperation at the Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation; Khrishna Adi Poetranto as Director of Law at the Directorate General of Law and International Agreements; Abdul Kadir Jaelani as Director of Economic and Socio-culture Agreements at the Directorate General of Law and International Agreements;  Listyowati as Director of South Central Asia Affairs at the Directorate of  of Asia-Pacific and African Affairs; Ina Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi as Diretor of Trade, Industry, Investment and Intellectual Property Rights  at the Directorate General of Mulitlateral Affairs; Mohammad Iskandarsyah Derry Aman as Director Dialog Partners and inter-ASEAN Affairs; Franciscus De Salles Toferry Primanda Soetikno as Director of Development, Economy and Environment at the Directorate of Multilateral Affairs; Perry Bernard Pada as Inspector of Region I at the Inspectorate General.

“Congratulations to the inaugurated officials. Thank you to the former colleagues who have done their duties all this time,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty.

The duties that have been carried out by those officials are not just a range of foreign politics responsibilities that have to be done, but also stepping stones for future careers.

Inauguration of the Echelon II officials places   new responsibilities upon the inaugurated officials. “Officials are an essential and important element in implementing Indonesia’s foreign politics. Strengthen the will power to strive in the country as well as abroad,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa.
